After having studied the jewelry trade in Lewiston, Maine, and Hartford, Connecticut, Mr. Eustis came to Minneapolis in 1872 and established a retail jewelry store. Shortly after that, he was joined by his brother, Charles Eustis, and they established the firm called Eustis Bros. The Eustis brothers operated their business until about 1915, when they sold it to Jacobs & Co.
This truly special pocket watch was manufactured by Patek Philippe between 1885 and 1890 for the order of Eustis Bros. Minneapolis jewelry trading company. I managed to obtain this rare clockwork at an auction, without its original case. It is absolutely enthralling that there was neither a need for repair, nor for a component replacement besides performing the usual cleaning and service.
All parts are original and in perfect condition.
Its unique 14 ct case is a hand-graved and inlaid Patek Philippe with 999,9 fine gold.
